We’re a complete design/build firm: We offer construction with technical design skill and design with technical construction skill.
Experience
Patrick Hamilton’s personal business experience includes carpentry, tile
setting and design, drafting plans, landscape design and installation, hardwood
and other flooring installation, and working with Candace Killman Design
of Marin. He is also a California Culinary Academy-trained chef who still understands
serious cooking. As you might imagine, designing kitchens is one of our specialties.
For 30 years our head designer was a lead carpenter. This background helps immensely in design decisions, cost effectiveness, and methods of construction. (Unlike our head designer, many building designers have never swung a hammer, and that can make for some almost impossible execution on a project — and with added expenses.)
Our job supervisor has over 25 years in the construction business, and each of our carpenters has almost as much. Our in-house electrician has been working in his trade for over 20 years. Our younger employees are being trained correctly and they are enthusiastic and very eager to please both client and boss. We have the experience to do your job the right way — and we know how to puzzle things out if problems come up.
Each of us here at Patrick Hamilton Construction does whatever it takes to “design and build complete customer satisfaction.”
Green Building Awareness
We attend conferences and conventions regarding Green Building and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). We are very mindful of designing and building with regard to the health of the environment and have been for some time. Green Building is not a fad and we are striving to become leaders in the field.
Efficiency
We have several construction crews, which helps us maximize our ability to work on a wide variety of home remodeling projects in Marin and Sonoma County. We track the crews carefully to ensure that each is on schedule, allowing us to work on more than one construction job at once. We can work on simultaneous projects in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa Counties.
Reliability and Confidence
We’re the builders who have nice things said about them. We do not have folks complaining about what time we start work nor about how we manage the safety and cleanliness of our job sites.
We’re the builders who show up every weekday at 7:15 AM and begin work at 7:30, take a 30 minute lunch at 12:00, clean the job site at 3:45, and go home at 4:00. Every day. You will never wonder where we are.
We’re the designers who understand proportion, scale, and taste. And who use those skills to create your style — not impose ours.
We’re the designers’ design/build firm whose business is small enough to keep overhead low and thus offer affordable fees. But we also use the latest Computer Aided Drafting programs (CAD) for our projects. And we can even hand draw when necessary — an almost forgotten craft.
